On the Road!

Visiting with the Neumann’s in Woodland, CA

An oil change every two weeks.  Yep, that’s how much ground we are covering!  We’ve been from Mexico through SoCal, Arizona, Nevada, back to California, and Oregon.  By the end of the first week in April we will have traveled through Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota!  Insane right?  But even though it may seem like there isn’t much else to do but drive, we have actually visited many dear friends along the way about our next adventure with Cadence International!  We have seen some amazing territory and have been awed at God’s Creation!  Please pray for traveling mercies and many God appointments with friends, family, and acquaintances!  We hope to not miss anyone but sometimes we don’t know where everyone is so if you would like a Beaudin visit please text me at 907-252-9111!  We will do our best!

We are now supported at 55% and climbing!  Rejoicing for our new partners!

“and I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”  Isaiah 6:8

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs-2

Questions! Questions! Here’s the Beaudin’s TOP 10 questions we get asked most frequently.  Check them out!

10. What will you do?

We will be Cadence Hospitality House directors. This means we will provide a “home away from home” outside a base. On Friday nights active military will come over to our home for “a home cooked meal and a Bible study.” During the week we will mentor, counsel, plan short term mission trips, and outings to build relationships with them.

9. What will the girls do?

At this time Emily desires to come with us for the next year to see where we are going and serve alongside us. She plans to attend college the Fall of 2016. Kelsey will help serve for a little longer as she will be starting 7th grade. Both girls will help with food prep and cooking as well as child care for young families coming for Bible Study and fellowship on a Friday night! Both girls will be the little sisters many of our servicemen left back home.

8. Why the military?

The passion comes from a Dad I didn’t grow up with who served the Army in the front lines of Vietnam and came home with “battle fatigue” or today PTSD. He never bounced back from what he saw and did. I’ve also been a youth pastor for almost 20 years in one church and have seen plenty of teenagers and friends head to war. Some have reintegrated back into civilian life ok – some have not. We appreciate and respect those who serve, but an even bigger passion is the desire to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our military. In our day and age, with all that is going on in the world, they need people to love on them and show them Christ through word and deed.

7. Can we visit and help serve?

Absolutely! We would love to have you come taste and see what we are doing. We believe you will fall in love with what we will do.

6. Do you work alone or with Chaplains on a base?

Our desire is to be placed at a military base wherever the need is greatest. Chaplains are looking for help from Cadence and we are ready to work with and support our busy Chaplains.

5. What are we doing with our house?

We may sell, we may rent.

4. How long will you be a Cadence Missionary?

As long as the Lord wants us with Cadence! We were at Soldotna Bible Chapel for almost 20 years as youth pastor, so you never know!

3. What is the best way to support us?

First, by praying. We need your prayer more than anything. Second, by supporting us financially. Your partnership will be what sends us to the field to share the Gospel and to love on our troops. If you would like to partner with us, please click on this link.

2. When are you leaving?

As soon as our support is raised. We are currently at 46%! God is good! Our personal goal is this August, and we are fervently praying that it is also God’s goal!

…and the number one question:

1. Where are you going?

We don’t know. Really.  We want to be where God needs us most, and we are willing to go wherever the need is greatest. We could be either international or domestic, as there are major military installations all over the United States as well as Europe, Korea, and Japan. We’ve asked Cadence to begin talking to us about where we are going when our support is almost raised. So please pray with us that it will be soon!

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28

Greetings from the Beaudin’s in 2015!  We just returned from Florida for my sister Ashley’s wedding, she is now Joey & Ashley Reese!  And while some of you may be thinking “lucky you,” I have to say we saw some very cold days!  Three of us came back from Florida with a head cold for a souvenir!

Yet while we were there Penny and I had the opportunity to hold a meeting with 3 potential church supporters and some other key people who do youth and college ministry, and we talked with my family about our ministry vision and financial goals.  We were encouraged by everyones enthusiasm for our new ministry with Cadence International to the Military and they eagerly await the day we step onto the field!  We eagerly await that day too!

We are now supported at 33%!  Praise the Lord!  1/3 down and 2/3rds to go!  We want to thank each of our new partners, welcome to the team!

As we look ahead, I am hoping to make a trip to Fairbanks, AK next week to share with our friends there, so please pray for great reunions, opportunities, and safe travels.  Blessings to you and yours!

“God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”  2 Cor. 9:8

Merry Christmas from the Beaudins!

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior we wish you all a Merry Christmas!  May we all keep the true reason for the season alive and well in our families, focusing on Jesus and all that we have to be grateful for!

Speaking of gratefulness and blessing, we praise the Lord as we are now at 20% monthly support!  Thank you, each of you who have provided monthly support or a one time gift, we feel like it’s Christmas morning each time we find out about a new partner in this vital ministry to our Military.

To give you an update, we continue to pray for our Father in Heaven to show us how big He is and show us His providence!  We continue to make contacts with churches in Alaska and have been working on two future trips to the lower 48 states, one in January and the other in mid March – mid May to visit friends, family, and churches.  We would love to see you so please let us know if you would like us to stop by and visit!

It’s been heartwarming to hear our daughter Kelsey faithfully pray at bedtime for our new adventure and the churches, friends, and family who are raising us up in prayers.  She is excited to get to the field as well!

And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever.  Amen.  Philippians 4:19-20

Merry Christmas all!

Whats a Cadence Hospitality House look like?

The Beaudins arrived in Eagle River November 21st to help Cadence Missionaries Dan Evans and Bob & Stephanie Caudle for the night. As seen in this photo, Penny was busy helping prepare food for our 50+ active military guests for the evening!  This is what it looks like at a Cadence House when it’s time to eat:

I spoke that evening on Luke 5: 17-26, encouraging the urgency of getting our friends to Jesus as the 4 guys did for their paralyzed friend.  I was asked to speak because Dan Evans and Bob Caudle had just returned from a Caribou hunt on Adak Island.

There were 16 guys who joined them from Joint Base Elmendorf / Richardson.  It was a successful hunt with lots of memories, meat, and great opportunity to speak into those guys lives.  They shared their stories that night in small groups while the big screen showed shots of the hunt.

Emily and Kelsey also helped out during the evening.  Kelsey with food prep and Emily with babysitting.  This allowed moms & dads to participate upstairs in the Bible study and fellowship.  They both did a great job!

Lastly, A high school classmate of mine had asked me to try and connect with a family friend of theirs stationed at Ft. Richardson.  It was a great pleasure to introduce Tommy to Cadence!  He’s a hunter and of all nights for him to visit, this was a great night!  The Adak hunt was the icing on the cake!

Training at Cadence Headquarters

10252060_10152821509678648_4540420567878643489_n

In the beginning of September 2014 Penny and I traveled to Denver to begin training for our new adventure.  We had just finished our youth group’s Genesis Retreat and on its heals we boarded a plane for an intense week of Candidacy School.  This week of training, interviews, and counseling was unlike anything we had ever been through.  The staff at Cadence were welcoming and wonderful people, they took very good care of us both and we really appreciated all the opportunities we had to get to know each of them.  The picture above shows some of the staff and executive leadership along with us at the end of our training week.

Penny went into this week very nervous, as an introvert she doesn’t prefer attention placed on her.  Not only did she excel each 12 hour day but she delivered a Bible Study to a group of women and counseled from the Scriptures very well.  At the end of the week we had a final interview with some of their Board and executive leadership and were asked if we would join them.  We said yes!

In the end, they told us that I wasn’t too much of a surprise, they pretty much knew what they were getting (still not sure if that was a compliment, haha) but Penny was a great surprise.  She was the talk of the office all week long, about how strong and encouraging she was.  As they put it, she’s a very strong silent type.  I’m glad for an organization that understands introverts, for Penny truly is a treasure.  We should be heading back to headquarters for additional field training once our support is raised, if needed, and so we prayerfully wait 🙂
